Inspiration for this Hotel Came Naturally

Inspired by its natural surroundings, The Sidney Pier Hotel & Spa is committed to sustainable practices that preserve the delicate balance of the environment and its resources for future generations to enjoy. Conservation was paramount in developing our hotel concept, and we're proud to say that we've gone well beyond recycling, by design.

In addition to numerous energy-saving and waste reducing initiatives, customized hydro-thermal heat pumps warm and cool the building by borrowing and returning excess heat from the ocean, reducing our emissions by 30-60%.

To support local growers and organic farmers in our community, we feature seasonal and regionally inspired menus. And our seafood menu items are strictly selected in support of sustainable fishery practices and the Vancouver Aquarium's OceanWise conservation program.

Guests who arrive in a hybrid vehicle enjoy complimentary parking and even our hotel dog, Dave, sleeps on a recycled pop bottle bed (and it's comfortable, we promise!).
