Experience the beauty of painting en plein air at the 6th Annual Sidney Pier Plein Air Paint Out. Guided by the ocean breeze, charming village atmosphere, and the natural beauty of the surrounding Gulf Islands, participating artists have four hours to create their masterpiece – en plein air. - Artist Orientation 10am

Juror Bios
Grant Fuller
Grant Fuller attended four years of college at the Vancouver School of Art, and then traveled to Toronto to begin a career in commercial art. As an Art Director and later as an Advertising Manager for Sears Fashion, he worked with the top photographers and artists in New York, Montreal and Chicago. Then arose the opportunity to manage broadcast production. His experience in art directing both still photo, film for TV and video tape took him to location shoots in Florida, Arizona, Puerto Rico, and California. In 1984 he took up painting full time and began to teach watercolour, including his popular watercolour instruction book for North Light Books. Grant's paintings have won several jurors awards and have been featured in magazines and newspapers at local and national levels. He teaches workshops and various courses in watercolour, and his subjects range from buildings and boats to figures and portraits. The quality of his work clearly shows a life long commitment to creating beautiful images.
Richard S. McDiarmid
Whether semi- abstract or representational, Richard McDiarmid's paintings invite the viewer in, to discover and explore, to complete the story or continue the inner journey or experience. In addition to being a prolific painter, he is highly regarded as an instructor and mentor to emerging and established artists. Richard was a driving force in establishing the Visual Art Foundation Program of the Federation of Canadian Artists. He is a signature member of both the Federation of Canadian Artists (SFCA) and the Northwest Watercolor Society (NWWS) and is a lifetime member of Painters at Painters, a prestigious B.C. artist's peer group. His award winning paintings have been exhibited in international shows including, The Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours, the Federation of Canadian Artists, and the Northwest Watercolor Society (NWWS). His paintings and articles have appeared in a number of publications including International Artist's Magazine. Richard's paintings can be found in commercial galleries and corporate and private collections in Canada, the USA, Britain, Europe, Japan and China. In addition to painting, this artist is much in demand as a workshop facilitator, instructing in Canada, the USA and Europe.

ABOUT DR. SWEENEY
Dr. Maureen Sweeney is board certified in Anti-Aging Medicine through the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine. As such, she is the only fully board certified, licensed anti-aging medical doctor in Victoria and one of the few in British Columbia. Dr. Sweeney studied medicine at UBC, graduating in 1987. She has been in medical practice since 1989 and has been studying and practicing anti-aging medicine since 2003. Dr. Sweeney also has five years experience in the new field of aesthetic medicine.
